Fun Saturday Post

My nephew, Nathan, stopped by for a visit today.  He’s the creative type who always wants to know what’s going on in Auntie’s work room. When I showed him my latest creation ( the window seat), he asked if he could do a little “decorating” of his own.  Uh, far be it from me to squash a young visionary!  – Sure, I said – Go ahead!

He took the window seat and started adding to it by taking pieces from my work shelves.

In the begining -

It needs some dolls Auntie:

He chose the dolls and how they should be positioned, as well as how the gal on the sofa should be reading a magazine.  Heh,heh, heh

Well, wadda ya think? –  He poses with his “creation”.

“Auntie, can I add more?”   Go ahead, said I.   : )

All stops pulled out, he enlarges the room by moving the screen  further to the right and adding more seating.  He also decided more “people” should be enjoying this room, including the young man in the suit.

(Notice how the coat needs to be draped on his shoulder – this kid doesn’t miss a thing!)

How do ya like me now Auntie?

Nathan – I adore you!

Versatile Fun with the Window Seat!

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”… That may indeed be true! So, I took some time out today to photograph my latest set (Scene Setter) in a variety of ways.  The following photos show it’s versatility by adding a few pieces and your favorite doll. I have to say, it was so much fun decorating and re-decorating for the photo shoot !

Enjoy the pics!

Dressed up – A more formal room:

Add drapes to one side, a few extra seats a floor lamp, and a gorgeous occupant!

Modern : A more casual look:

Room divider, colorful throw rug and extra seating – Imagine that!

A little imagination goes a long way with this set!

RUN! Don’t Walk !

With my most recent work behind me, I decided it was time for a little doll play. I am usually so busy working and creating new furnishings, that when a new doll arrives here, I have to put her aside until I have some free time to  take her out of the box and enjoy her.

Well, I did just that this weekend. Doll of choice – Monogram Magnetism.  This gorgeous doll was created  as a special exclusive for Chelsea’s Collector Cottage in Australia. I had been eyeing her for some time, but it wasn’t until I saw her for on sale that I decided to nab her!

I am so in love with this gorgeous creature! Can we say enamored even? LOL  I think you will understand my obsession with her once you see all the photos I’ve taken. She look fantastic in just about everything!  This is for two reasons – First of all that spectacular mane of shiny copper hair!  And second, her green eyes lidded with gold!  This color combination makes it possible for the doll to wear a variety of hues. Not only does clothing look good on her, but place her in area surroundings with jeweled tones and watch her come to life!

A little obsessive with the photos here, but where better to showcase them than ones on blog?

Click on each photo for an even larger view.

So…See what I mean ?  :)   If you are looking for a new doll to add to your collection, you might just want to add Magnestism. I believe she is a limited edition of 300 world-wide, and she is on sale right now at Chelsea’s Collector Cottage for $149.99.  Run ! Don’t walk !
