The Papa Bear Chair

I had been wanting to recreate this mid century marvel for quite some time, however, it’s one of those styles that you either like or don’t like. I was on the fence as whether or not to recreate it in miniature. I went as far as creating the frame and then set it aside to work on My “Wonderful World of Wool” sale.

While sharing a photo, of something completely different, with a friend of mine, He noticed the non upholstered frame in the background and inquired. Although I said I’d given up on offering something along these lines, He said he loved it and would I finish it for Him?

I had my doubts on whether the completed project would look anywhere near the original, but I figured out how to work the padding and finish the upholstery in a way that I deemed perfectly acceptable. To My utter surprise I was delighted with the results, and so is He!

The Papa Bear Chair is on my list of pieces to offer in the near future.

For now, I wanted to share this little story with you because it’s one of someone else’s belief in you and your talents. Where I had given up on a project because I either didn’t believe it would look as I imagined or didn’t think I had to ability to create it, someone else saw that in Me.

Sometimes Artists lack inspiration and doubt their talents. When this happens, it’s nice to know that someone has your back!

With appreciation – The Papa Bear Chair!

That is a wonderful reminder that we all doubt ourselves at one time or another, and that we are often wrong! Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
