This Girl for Hire !

Anyone remember the 1965 television  series “Honey West”?  I was too young to be aware of the show at its inception, but not long ago, I was introduced to it for the very first time.  What a cool concept for 60’s television!  Private Eye Honey West, was smart, stylish, and always got her man!  The series was based on the Honey West novels by G.G. Fickling, (a pseudonym for Gloria and Forest Fickling). Unfortunately, the series only lasted 1 year. Even so, there still were promotional products available like the Honey West doll, clothing, and some swanky P.I. accessories! (Gun, spy glasses, handcuffs, and even a pet ocelot)

Honey West had the coolest pad, the hippest clothes, was a master at Judo/Karate, and was one smart cookie!  All very Barbie-like to me. Therefore, inspirational when it comes to having a little photographic fun with my dolls and furniture.

I’m still viewing my collection of the Honey West series on DVD, but for your enjoyment, here’s my repro Fashion Queen doing her best Honey West imitation with some orignal Honey West clothing and accessories.

Enjoy!

Are these really vintage Honey West clothes? It looks too good to be true. All I found on Ebay was a Karate outfit… Great work, as usual.

I’ve already told you this, but I’m also enjoying your current red and aquamarine usage~

      Hi Martin,
      No worries. : )
Yes, the gold brocade evening dress, and the black leotard as well as the gun, and binoculars are all authentic Honey West items. You just have to be patient. You can still find those and more on ebay!

Hi Maryann, I always loved her 2 way radio in her compact!! My sister had a Honey West Doll, God knows what happened to it. If we only knew then what we know now, we would have saved everything. An she had her “Guy Friday” Sam who always seemed to arrive after Honey had beat the crap out of the “Bad Guy”!!! LOL!!!! I was in grade school but was allowed to stay up to watch Honey West every week. What fun memories!!!! Ron
